I never do the Oaks because what I have found is that the way the indexes (as it pertains to the speed/stamina balance) read for colts does not come out the same for the fillies. Once in a great while a filly will read true to her numbers in the same manner (like Zenyatta and Winx and Rachel Alexandra) but for the most part, it's not the same.
I do not have an answer as to why that is. Also, what wins at 9f in the Oaks does not share the same results historically as it does at 10f in the Derby. The optimum distance would be extremely different. For instance, if the Kentucky Derby was run at 9f instead of 10f, my analysis would be completely different. The horses that I said were not good for the Derby would probably be total standouts at 9f.
Also, there is no strong pattern there historically either like there is in the Derby. But I have been working on it at a snails pace but still much more work to go.
But if you would still like to consult the indexes, you can go to pedigreequery.com and at the very top just outside the top of the chart are the chefs numbers for any horse. But it is very important to keep in mind that the indexes will not pertain in the same manner as they do for the Derby. I do not think they would be reliable to use or bank on though. There is just not enough to go on.
