September 14th begins the Road to the 2020 Derby with the Iroquois Stakes run at 1-1/16th.
It is so exciting that Derby season is upon us and its time to get to know a whole new crop of runners. This year I will start a running Blog article and update after each prep race with the winner and a short analysis on his (or hers) apparent optimum distance. The analysis will consist of both the USA and abroad. Hoping to see another Mendelsohn or Thunder Snow this year.
Preparation for Derby Futures bets gets underway starting next weekend.
Be on the lookout for a new password to access this article in your email. Since I refuse to hand over the analysis this year to any "incognito" sport writers, I will only be sending the new password to those members that I know are 101% who they say they are.
Since I had to be on guard last year, it affected the Triple Crown articles and I will not be doing that again this year. As was the case in the years prior to starting this website, the dosage articles depicting advantages and optimum distances were meant for the eyes of friends who have a passion and love for the Triple Crown and not for those who wish to steal the words and post as their own. By the time the Belmont Stakes was run last year, I couldn't even post my real thoughts on my own website. That will not happen this year.
Most will be receiving the new Blog password in your email very soon. If you do not receive one it is because of lack of participation. You are more than welcome to send me an email through the Contact Tab.
I am more serious than ever with the year's Derby and Belmont and I refuse to be on guard like I was last year. My words in my articles will remain on The Dirty Horse Club's website and they WILL NOT be showing up in the Washington Post. I feel bad that some may be left out this year but I have at least told everyone to get involved so that I had peace of mind. If you did not get involved, it is not my fault.
I plan on hitting the superfecta in each of the Triple Crown races this year. Nothing is going to interfere with that. I am on a mission.
Also, if at any time between now and the Derby I feel there has been a "breach" - the password will change again. I want complete certainty that this Derby season on this website is completely safe. The last two seasons - it was not. Short of not posting on the Derby at all and/or shutting down my own site, I am left with no choice. The password will change very soon and will only be sent to those who participated.
Sounds great Lisa
With respect to the up coming Iroquois Stakes, Dennis' Moment will be my early pick, and certainly one to watch moving forward, IMO.
Thanks for all you do.
Will be interesting. Woodbine Mile is the same day, so we'll see who earns a berth to the BC.
Anna, I am so excited about this years Derby. Made some new breakthroughs with the "code" and with St. Simon stats over the Summer.
Everything is coming together perfectly. The Derby Mission for me will be 24 hours a day - nonstop until the 1st Saturday in May. Can you believe Derby Prep Season starts this weekend??!!! Its so exciting!
I'll have to start taking more note now. Very cool that you're breaking more code Lisa. I know you're not keen on Omaha Beach either, but I'd love to see him become a real contender in things. Also hope that some of the hotshots in the spring that haven't done much start to perk up. Too many are idling and Code of Honor needs some competition. He is looking SO good.
I don't think Code of Honor will let up, he's going to continue an upward climb. He reminds me so much of Gun Runner for some reason. I agree about the few who need to get out there and start moving, especially Game Winner, Maximum and Mucho Gusto. Wondering where Vekoma has gone as well.
I agree about Code, plus he's in patient hands for a wonderful 4 yr old campaign. There are a few now. Stumbled across Express Train trained by John Shirreffs a Union Rags colt❤️out of I'm a Flake by Mineshaft . {16-c} DP = 4-8-11-1-0 (24) DI = 2.69 Kinda long, such a nice job at Del Mar.
