The culprit is an entrapped epiglottis, a respiratory issue that often requires minor surgery and time off to repair.
OMG!!! For real?!! Well this is serious news. Poor Mike Smith! Wow.
Now we're getting somewhere!!
Wow !!! I didn't have him anyway ...
It's heartbreaking but glad they found it before he raced......and there is the added plus that one less derby horse is "ruined" by running in thiis and hopefully we see him in some upcoming exciting stakes races.........unless he is whisked off to shed but I don't think so?
I'm not happy about bettors being kept in dark," "Porter said the throat issue became apparent in the past five days, and an April 29 scope revealed the problem". ......and as you know, breeding rights were purchased on Tues, then on Wed he is scratched.
So much for reporters reporting, huh? 5 days ago, maybe we could have been given a heads up ???
WHy I get hong kong mostly now.
I also did not have him in my trifecta, but still..........him not being in adversely affects my odds and if I had known something was afoot 5 days ago I would have capped a bit differently!
I'm glad he's not running. This really wasn't his distance but with that rain he may have at least had a shot. Its good. I feel bad for Mike Smith. I wonder what he's going to do now.
Mike Smith is worth $10 million or more. If I were him I'd go swim and lay in sun someplace nice for a few days erather than trip around in the mud at CDX.
Instead I will be spending what little $$ I have betting a U.S. horse race where I don't even get to see the horses' veterinary records!!!!
We don't know about the others either - we just have to go with it.
