What do we think? Dennis' Moment (Tiznow) DP = 3-4-7-0-0 (14) DI = 3.00 CD = 0.71
American Theorem, (APharoah) DP = 2-4-4-0-0 (10) DI = 4.00 CD = 0.80
Maxfield (Street Sense) DP = 3-6-15-0-0 (24) DI = 2.20 CD = 0.50
Eight Rings (Empire Maker) DP = 7-12-5-0-2 (26) DI = 4.78 CD = 0.85
Scabbard (More Than Ready) DP = 18-15-17-2-0 (52) DI = 3.95 CD = 0.94,
Who else?
Maxfield did well in the Claiborne Futurity at Keeneland, as did Eight Rings in the AP Stakes. Really loved DennisM in both his races, particularly the Iroquois, plus would love to see the Man O' War line win some big ones. Tiztime!
Also apologies if a BC thread has been started elsewhere, I just can't find one though and we're only weeks out. So starting with the Juv colts.
I haven't even begun with the Breeders Cup and its killing me!! I hope to have a quiet day this Sunday to start breaking down the big dirt races. We have to see how that track is running the week prior but just looking at the numbers that you posted above, Eight Rings looks like a big time player at the distance at Santa Anita. Dennis' Moment should love the day as well. And that St. Simon Connection with Maxfield is OFF THE CHARTS fantastic! Lots of work in the upcoming week. I also took a few vacation days that week to really narrow down which races seem to be the best bets.
The only sad part is that both Thunder Snow and Le Vent Se Leve won't be around.
I know Lisa, half way through October, how did that happen?? I have no idea who's running in most of the categories. Terrible, as bad as cramming on the weekend for a test Monday morning. All I know is how much I love Imperial Hint who doesn't have to contend with nemeses City of Light or Roy H. And where ever Bricks and Mortar wants to run, and another show down between Midnight Bisou and Elate. And my darling Concrete Rose! And El Tormenta! Le Vent Se Leve would make it so easy for the BCC, but that's for 2020, and I suspect we may not see Thunder Snow run again over here. If Pinatubo comes from Europe for the Juv Turf we are in for a treat, yet another Shamardal killer.
Your post here was just what I needed to really start getting excited about Breeders Weekend!
It's Off to the Races!!!!
Hi Lisa
I'm looking forward to your BC analysis, especially in the Classic. I'm still on the Code of Honor bandwagon.
In the Dirt Mile, I like Omaha Beach. In the Juvenile, I like Dennis' Moment. In the Sprint, I like Imperial Hint.
In the Distaff, I like Midnight Bisou. In the Juvenile Fillies, I like Bast, with Donna Veloce as my longshot.
I'm still working on the other BC races.
Good luck breaking down all the BC races. There should be some excellent betting races.
Nothing would ever get me off Code of Honor either! I just hope that McKinzie isnt jacked up on anything!! But I still have to look at the race and set it up which I hope to do on Sunday. I am sorry that I haven't posted much new lately but I will get back to it soon.
Looking forward to some analysis. But did you see this:
"McKinzie finished as the top-rated horse in final polling for the 2019 Breeders’ Cup Classic Rankings by a panel of leading Thoroughbred racing media, horse players and members of the Breeders’ Cup Racing Directors/Secretaries Panel."
There's an article about it on www.breederscup.com.
Looking forward to it Lisa
Does anyone know when Code of Honor is expected to arrive at Santa Anita?
I read that McGaughey wants 1 more Belmont workout on Sunday and then he'll ship to S.A. early next week.
anxiously awaiting your write ups. will be Mohegan Sun Pocono on Saturday and would really like to give them a beat down with your help. Win or lose I love your insight and analysis .
Thanks Pete. I am working on it right now and I hope to post a few new articles within the next few hours. Working on the Juvenile, the Dirt Mile and of course the Classic!
